As part of its mandate to provide technical assistance to the local government units after the devolution, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Region 7 has continuously provided training and capability building activities to the local social welfare and development offices (LSWDOs).

DSWD-7 conducts a two-day workshop on the crafting of vision, mission and goals of the local social welfare and development offices.

One of the highlights of the technical assistance of the field office is the recent two-day workshop on the crafting of vision, mission and goals of the local social welfare and development offices held at Alpha City Suites, Hernan Cortes Avenue, Mandaue City.

The said workshop was aimed at helping the LSWDOs become fully functional in the form of individual coaching to the LSWDOs.

One of the work areas in LSWDO Functionality is the Administration and Organization where their office is expected to formulate a specific vision, mission and goals in guiding the implementation of the programs and services.

Based on the assessment conducted, this area remains a challenge among the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices.

The said workshop was attended by Cebu Province LGUs namely: Borbon,, Sogod, Poro, San Francisco, Daanbantayan, Naga, Medellin,Tabuelan, Mandaue, Santa Fe, Bantayan, Tabogon, Pilar, and Toledo.

Bohol LGUs also attended the activity, which included Catigbian, Talibon, Tagbilaran, Calape, Balamban, Sierra Bullones, and Carmen.

The devolution of DSWD programs and services to the LGUs through the LSWDOs also included the manpower, equipment, and its corresponding budget. ###
