DSWD 7 regional warehouse staff loads family food packs that were transported to the Municipality of Sibonga.

Sibonga is among the areas in Cebu Province that was badly hit during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette on the evening of December 16, 2021.

The town also received 1,712 Hygiene Kits.

As of December 20, DSWD FO VII has already released a total of 11,240 FFPs amounting to Php 8,240,680.00 as augmentation support to local government units (LGUs) devastated by the typhoon.

While DSWD provides the needed basic services of disaster-affected-families through the FFPs stockpile situated in Cebu, Bohol and Negros Oriental warehouses, the LGUs are the first responders in the occurrence of natural and/or man-made calamities, based on the Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.

The DSWD augmentations are based on the requests of LGUs and the corresponding assessment of Field Offices. The Department is always ready to provide immediate assistance to the affected LGUs. ###
