The Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) Elementary School held its 21st closing exercises earlier today, March 30, 2016. RRCY is a residential facility for children in conflict with the law (CICL) under the care of the DSWD-7.

During the closing exercises, special awards were given to five grade one, four grade two, and seven grade three children.  The special awards were also given to four children in grade four and five children in grade five.

One of the closing exercises highlights was the graduation of the three children – Argie, Alvin and Joseph. The journey of these three children to finish grade six was not easy. They said they encountered a lot of challenges but giving up was not an option. The perseverance of Argie, Alvin and Joseph paid off.

Receiving their certificates today is a great achievement for these three boys. For them, finishing grade six opens a new beginning which is moving up to high school.  They look forward to the next school year, saying they will conquer it without a sign of fear.

The closing exercises was attended by the Department of Education (DepEd) officials and teachers assigned in RRCY Elementary School. ###
