DSWD-7 Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre met Director Concepcion R. Ornopia, the new regional director of the Office of Civil Defense-7 during the latter’s courtesy call early today.

RD Macapobre expressed to RD Ornopia the need for DSWD’s new workers to be trained by OCD on Disaster Preparedness.

She also informed the new RD about the Visayas Disaster Response Center (VDRC), an important facility to disaster response operations because it also caters other regions in Luzon and Mindanao aside from the four Visayas regions.

Also in the meeting were Artemia Degamo, DSWD Social Welfare Officer IV and disaster response focal person and OCD’s Engr. Ver Neil Balaba.###
