President Rodrigo Roa Duterte graced the launching of the Malasakit Center at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

The Malasakit Center was organized in line with President Duterte’s thrust in streamlining government processes, reducing lines and bureaucratic red tape and most especially providing health assistance to the poor Filipinos confined in government hospitals.

The Malasakit Center is a convergence effort initiated by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas in cooperation with DOH, DOH-retained hospitals in region 7 Philihealth, PCSO and DSWD.

“Since the operation of the Malasakit Center on January 29, 2018 until today, February 12, 2018, the DSWD 7 has already served 526 clients with a total of P7.5 million worth of assistance,” said Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, DSWD 7 regional director. ###
