RD Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre listens to children singing their Christmas carols.

One of the highlights of this year’s Christmas celebration was the children’s party held at the office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region -7.  The activity was organized by the employees and supported by the management.

Being the Chair of the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children, the DSWD Region-7 supported the initiative of the employees, who wanted the children to experience DSWD’s child-friendly environment.

“It has been said time and again that Christmas is for Children.  The children are the greatest blessing to a family and community. And for us, the joy of celebrating Christmas comes primarily from making the children happy,” said Director Maria Evelyn B. Macapobre.

She also said that the activity is a way for parents and children to have quality time together.

A total of 35 children aged 4 months to 13 years old joined the activity. The children enjoyed their lunch, games, and gifts.  They sang Christmas carols to the staff. Director Macapobre and members of DSWD staff gave money to the delight of the children. ###
