Members of the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection help load the goods on the C130 plane bound for Virac ,Catanduanes.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII as of today, December 27, 2016 has already delivered 2,600 family food packs to Bicol region for the victims of typhoon Nina. The C130 of the Philippine Airforce delivered the goods to Virac Catanduanes.The field office also loaded 5,100 food packs to two wing vans that will deliver it to Region 8 tonight to also provide food for the victims of Nina.

The food packs were produced by the DSWD’s Visayas Disaster Response Cente located in Mandaue City.

The VDRC bolsters the response capacities of the Philippine Government through its Mechanized Production System (MPS). The mechanized production system installed within the Visayas DRC allows for efficient and semi-automated production of DSWD family food packs.

“We would like to thank the combined forces of the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection who assisted DSWD VII in the loading of food packs to the C130 that transported it to Region 5,” says DSWD-7 regional director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre. ###
