The Department of Social Welfare and Development has joined the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in bringing EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN through ‘Pagdu-aw sa Cebu ug Mandaue, Siquijor, ug Negros Oriental’ on January 19, 20, and 22, 2021.

DSWD has been represented by the Social Marketing Service (SMS) Director Irene Dumlao. She has presented the DSWD updates and accomplishments of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program, Kalahi-CIDSS, Social Pension, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), and Disaster Response in Region 7.

Dumlao has expressed gratitude to partners including the national government agencies and the local government units for the continued trust and support given to the agency which reaped a 78% approval rating, the highest approval rating among the different government offices in the executive branch, from the latest survey of Pulse Asia Ulat ng Bayan Nationwide Survey conducted in November and December 2020.

The three-day event has been conducted in the three island provinces in Central Visayas to discuss the policies of the national government agencies and local government units in helping the communities in mitigating the impact of the pandemic.

Apart from PCOO, PIA, and DSWD, the Department of Health (DOH), Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have also joined the activity to explain their campaigns and initiatives. ###
