The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 has released a total of Php 447,183.25 worth of food and non-food items to the 115 Families affected by the flash flood last September 22, 2017 in Liloan, Cebu.

DSWD-7 staff assist the LGU Liloan staff in the distribution of relief goods to the victims of flashflood.

DSWD gave 115 food packs 115 blankets, and 115 clothing kits.  Each food pack contains 6 kilos of rice, 4 canned meat, 4 canned fish and 6 sachets of cofee.  The clothing kit contains new undergarments, shorts and shirts for ladies and girls as well as for men and boys, bath towels, malong and slippers.

Mayor Ma. Esperanza Christina G. Frasco, immediately asked for an augmentation on September 25 and the DSWD through the Disaster Reduction Assistance Management Unit (DReAMU), immediately released 115 food packs and non-food items to the Municipality.

The assistance was already distributed to the affected families led by the MSWDO of Liloan.

Heavy rain which lasted for two (2) days caused the Cotcot river to overflow, affecting a total of 500 individuals or 115 families in barangays Cotcot and Jubay to evacuate to Tiltilon Elementary School, Cotcot Gym and Purok Mansanitas Gym.

The DSWD 7 has been providing immediate assistance to municipalities and cities affected by calamities. ###
