“I believe that UCT is the best among the many cash assistance programs that DSWD implements in adherence to the President’s directives,” said DSWD Field Office VII OIC-Regional Director Rebecca Geamala.

“The region has already accomplished more than 80% of its target,” said RD Geamala.

The UCT has 10 million beneficiaries which include the Pantawid Pamilya households, Social Pensioners and Listahanan identified poor.

Aside from Cebu City, recent payouts were also held in the municipalities of Bantayan and Camotes in Cebu and Inabanga, Bohol.

During the payouts, UCT brochures written in Cebuano were also distributed to inform the public about the program.

Each beneficiary received the lump sum amount of Php 2,400 which is equivalent to Php 200 per month. ###
