The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Visayas through the Listahanan push-starts training of field validators for the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Program implementation.

Hired UCT validators from the 48 Local Government Units (LGUs) of Bohol Province are the first to have received training and orientation for the UCT Program implementation on March 18-19, 2018. While the orientation for UCT Validators from the 53 LGUs of Cebu Province also followed on March 20-22, 2018.

The orientation significantly includes the discussion on TRAIN Law and Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Program, Household Validation Form (HVF) and Validation Guidelines, Accomplishing the Household Validation Log (VHL), Accomplishment Report and Barangay Certification, Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012. Administrative concerns like contracts, salary and travel expenses of validators were also part of the discussion.

This 30-working day engagement requires each field validator to visit at least 12 households per day and update necessary information of the household.

The orientation and training aim to fully equip field validators with the necessary knowledge and skills that will aid them in effectively performing their task in validating the 317,624 targeted Listahanan identified poor households in Central Visayas.

All UCT field validators of other provinces in the region will also have their orientation until first week of April this year.

In Central Visayas region, a total of 217,650 Pantawid beneficiaries and 270,910 social pensioners are among the recipients of the cash subsidy of the UCT Program. A total of 317,624 identified poor households in the Listahanan 2 database that are subject for validation by the hired validators will also benefit the program.

The UCT Program which is under R.A No. 10963 or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law is intended to provide cash grants of Php 200 per month for 2018 and Php 300 for the years 2019-2020 for the 10 million identified poor households.  ###
