After the successful conduct of the first Search for 4Ps ReyNanay in 2022, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII will open its second year of staging, which aims to provide opportunities to share their stories of change on different platforms.

The search for 4Ps ReyNanay pays tribute to empowered 4Ps mothers who made a significant impact and contribution to their community and will showcase each mother’s success story, her personal advocacy, and her public speaking skills. The activity will focus on the inner beauty of each ReyNanay and their active participation in community development.

The search is open to all women beneficiaries of 4Ps ages 40 to 55 years old.

Candidates must be beneficiaries of the program for at least two years, have good standing in the community with no derogatory records, whose income does not come from gambling, prostitution, child labor, extortion, or other similar illegal resources, and most importantly, be 100% compliant with all the program conditions.

A total of eight (8) candidates representing the four provinces of the Central Visayas region, which includes three (3) from Cebu, two (2) from Bohol and Negros Oriental, and one (1) from Siquijor, will join the 3-day activity.

The eight candidates will also participate in various preliminary activities, which include the submission of their introduction and advocacy videos.

The introduction video will briefly present the candidate and her family and how the program helped uplift her family’s level of well-being, while the advocacy video will encapsulate the candidate’s active participation or initiative in her community.

The eight finalists will also have the chance to attend empowerment-related training that will equip them to be more responsive in their community work and share the learnings with other 4Ps co-beneficiaries.

A one-on-one interview will also be conducted prior to the coronation night, which will be held on June 15, 2023.

During the coronation night, the candidates will also showcase their poise and personal style by wearing their town’s festival attire, daily work wear, and modern Filipiniana Terno.

The eight candidates will be trimmed down to three finalists, who will proceed to the final question-and-answer round. Afterward, the first 4Ps ReyNanay Justina Villego from Basay, Negros Oriental, will crown her successor.

All candidates will get cash prizes and certificates of recognition.

The candidates are expected to be 4Ps local ambassadors, especially on women’s empowerment, education, health, and the promotion of their personal advocacy. They will also have the chance to deliver testimonies during the Family Development Session (FDS) and other public gatherings. ###
