About 50 community youths from OPTIONS, Inc.  participated in a recent seminar- workshop on Sustainable Livelihood and Republic Act 9262 popularly known as Anti-Violence Against Women and Children at the New Wave Resort in Liloan, Cebu.

The workshop aimed at providing alternative means of income generation through The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program as well as raising awareness on the plight of young adults who are potential victims of different forms of abuse and exploitation. DSWD’s Project Development Officer (PDO), Jennifer Quimno, and Regional Information Officer (RIO) Jaybee Binghay, spoke on social awareness, livelihood opportunities and Anti-Violence Against Women and Children .

Most of the participants were out-of-school youths from Mandue City ages 15-24 yrs. old, who started working at a young age and have been given technical skills and support by way of scholarship by OPTIONS INC.

OPTIONS otherwise known as Outreach Program on Trainings, Integral Organizing and Networking for Solidarity, Inc. is a licensed and accredited Non-Government Organization (NGO) of DSWD-7 whose mission is to eliminate child labor in Cebu and to provide support services for the urban poor youths in Mandaue City.
