The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 initially released 7,800 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to Negros Oriental as of 12 noon of December 25, 2021, to provide food to Typhoon Odette affected families.

Members of the DSWD-7 staff continue to repack at the regional warehouse in Negros Oriental the family food packs requested by the local government units.

It amounted to a total of Php 3,627,000.00 worth of assistance.

The breakdown of the initial distribution is the following: 2,000 FFPs to Manjuyod, 800 FFPs to Tayasan, 2,000 FFPs to Ayungon, 1,000 FFPs to Bais City, 1,000 to La Libertad, and 1,000 to Canlaon City.

All regional warehouses in Tagbilaran City, Dumaguete City, and Cebu City are continuously repacking to maintain the quantity of stockpile and to be able to respond to the family food packs requests with the help of DSWD staff and volunteers.

The DSWD augmentations are based on the requests of Local Government Units (LGUs) and the corresponding assessment of the Field Office.

While the Department provides the disaster-affected families with FFPs, it is the responsibility of the concerned LGUs to respond first when calamities occur, based on Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010. ###
