DSWD Field Office VII conducted its 2nd quarter consultation dialogue with local social welfare and development officers (LSWDOs) in the provinces of Bohol and Cebu on May 16 to 17 and March 18 to 19, 2023, respectively.

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected PASWI members of the Bohol Chapter.

The Department institutionalized and initiated this activity to convene all the LSWDOs to discuss issues or concerns affecting social service delivery at the local level.

One of the highlights of the Bohol LSWDOs’ dialogue was strengthening partnerships with existing social worker organizations like The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) and the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWDOPI).

Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, together with Bohol Vice Governor Dionisio Victor A. Balite, Ph.D., and other distinguished guests graced the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected PASWI members of the Bohol Chapter.

Meanwhile, Cebu LSWDOs also gathered for their 2nd quarter consultation dialogue, focusing on the social protection program, the SWD Laws Monitoring Tool, and the Early Child Care and Development Information System (ECCD-IS). Awarding certificates of recognition to the newly accredited pre-marriage counselors was also done.

Both activities had been successfully done because of the unwavering support of the Department, which committed to continually providing technical assistance to all the LSWDOs across the region. The active involvement of the LSWDOs also contributed to its success. ###
