Ms. Ligaya Dael shares her message for Christmas to he colleagues in DSWD-7.

“We need to develop young leaders to succeed those who will be retiring from office, “said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre.

She said workers will be trained to lead regardless of age or rank.

As a dynamic organization, DSWD-7 has to develop new breed of leaders. And one way of developing young leaders is to showcase their talents.

Ms. Ligaya Gador Dael, Social Welfare Officer II assigned at Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Office Cebu, started showcasing hers.

On December 28, during DSWD-7’s Christmas get-together, Ms. Dael delivered her heartwarming message as requested by Director Macapobre.

“I know that Christmas is the Savior’s birthday but I often associated the season with gifts, parties, merrymaking and lots of food. I thought before that Christmas is only for those who are not dying, Christmas is only for those who are not sick, Christmas is only for those who are not grieving. In summary, I see that Christmas is only for those who have more in life,” said Ms. Dael.

Her gift for conversation and the knack for writing, made her speak naturally.

“But as I progress, whether horizontally, vertically, or with age, my view of the yuletide season change. Yeah it is the most wonderful time of the year, but is it really? Do you believe that we can make all the time full of wonders? We can make all the time happy and proud. We can make every day, Christmas Day,” continued Dael.

In her message, she shared about her painful experience when her mother died in December two years ago.

“I thought Christmas was never possible for us, I thought Christmas would never be the same. But my cold mornings were embraced with warmest hope and strength. I thought sharing something to others was far from reality when I felt the emptiness and void inside of me, but I came into terms that I still have the capacity to give more in time when I have less or nothing. I felt the true spirit of Christmas in time when I thought the world was dawning down on me,” continued Ms. Dael.

She ended her message by saying “My life’s greatest lessons which always armed me in this journey is to never give up, keep moving forward, keep the faith, be resilient, always look for the silver linings in every endeavor you engage into for the Saviour has come! Christmas is for everybody.

“So, laugh, smile, hug, wink, and enjoy,” stressed Ms. Dael.

Earlier, during the meeting of the office of the regional director staff, six shared their messages for Christmas. They were Raymund Cahayagan and Roman Bering, drivers; Marigen Sardido, Admin Assistant II; Mary Jane Alaba, Admin Aide IV; Christalle JoyMoralde, Admin Assistant I; and Ezra Roel Archival, Management Audit Analyst II. ###
