“Nagpasalamat mi og dako nga gibisita mi ninyo diri, ug gi share ninyo ang blessing diri namo, manghinaut ko nga dili mo makalimot namo (We thank you for visiting us here and for sharing your blessings to us, I hope you will not forget us),” said one of the residents in Children’s Haven.

Daisy Lor of the DSWD happily shares Bible stories to the residents of Children’s Haven a home for the disadvantaged children of Albert Schwietzer Familienwerk Foundation Philippines, Inc.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Social Welfare Employees Credit Cooperative (SWECC) along with the members of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee for Filipino Family celebrates the 25th National Family Day at the Children’s Haven a home for the disadvantage children of the Albert Schweitzer Familienwerk Foundation Philippines, Inc. (ASFFPI) in Pilipog, Cordova, Cebu.

The Foundation started its operation in 2004, and since then they had been offering home and care for the abandoned children and also receiving referrals from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

ASFFPI has been a partner to DSWD in looking after the welfare of the abandoned children for 13 years, and for this 25th National Family Day celebration they celebrated it with more than 60 children who received the visitors with a warm heart and a sweetest smile.

The DSWD staff and members of the RIACFF facilitated the “bring me” game and distributed simple gifts for the children which they happily accepted.

As a welcome gift to the visitors the children showcased their talents in dancing. They were also delighted with the bible stories shared by Ms. Daisy Lor, Social Welfare Officer (SWO) III of DSWD.

(Thank you so much for welcoming us in your home this morning, and for showing us your warmest smile and for showcasing your talents. We are here to celebrate the 25th National Family Day with you as one family),” said Ms. Aileen Cuevas, Protective Services Unit (PSU) Head of DSWD-7. ###
