The Catubig family of Barangay Bogo, Maria, Siquijor bagged the fourth runner-up for the 2017 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya National Search in the recently concluded Pantawid Pamilya National Family Day held in Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Muntinlupa City.

The Catubig Family proudly shows their plaque of recognition during the Pantawid Pamilya National Family Day held in Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Muntinlupa City.

The event gathered more than 1,000 people composed of all regional winners of the 2017 National Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya together with selected family-beneficiaries from Muntinlupa City.

The grand award went to Cabualan Family from Leon, Iloilo.

First runner-up went to Nalam Family from Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental; Second runner-up is the Betua Family from Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte; and Third runner-up went to the Mahayag Family from San Francisco, Quezon.

A special award was given to Respicio Family from Cagayan as Most Innovative Family.

The theme “Pamilyang Pilipino: Handang Tumawid sa Pag-unlad”, communicates the family-beneficiaries’ ability and confidence to lift themselves from poverty. It emphasizes the perseverance of the beneficiaries supported by with the programs and services of the Department and its partner agencies and organizations.

Wala man namu nakuha ang unang ganti, lipay gihapon mi kay dako na kani nga pasidungog nga na-angkon sa among pamilya (Even though we did not get the top prize, we are still happy because this is already a great recognition for our family),” Rosemarie Catubig said.

Kontento nami sa kung unsay gihatag sa Ginoo kay kabalo ko nga deserving man pud ang uban nga pamilya nga makadaog (We are already contented on what God has given us and I know the other families also deserved to win),” the Catubig matriarch added.

Moving forward, the family promised to continue to be a good role model to the community.

Aside from being a parent leader in the Pantawid Pamilya, Rosemarie also leads the Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) in their community.

With her leadership, the SLPA will soon embark on a native chicken production.

Karun nga apil na sad mi sa Sustainable Livelihood Program sa DSWD, makatabang gyud nig dako sa among panginabuhian (Now that we are already part of the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD, this would really help augment our income),” Rosemarie gladly said as she looks forward to the realization of their native chicken production business.

The Nalam Family of Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental is the 1st runner-up in the 2017 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya Search.

The Pantawid Pamilya is a human development program that invests in the health and education of poor households primarily of children 18 and below. Pantawid Pamilya is only one of the social protection strategies of the national government implemented by DSWD. ###
