Some 74 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households in Argao recently graduated from the program at the Argao Sports Complex.

DSWD-7 officials headed by Rosemarie Salazar and LGU Argao headed by Mayor Allan Sesaldo give the “sertipiko ng pagkilala” to the 4Ps graduates.

The 74 4Ps households already attained the self-sufficient level or level 3 based on the Social Welfare Development Indicator (SWDI) conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

In his welcome message, Municipal Mayor Allan Sesaldo lauded the Department for the cash assistance and other appropriate interventions to the 4Ps beneficiaries so they can achieve a better quality of life.

The local government of Argao is also thankful for the 4Ps beneficiaries who strive to ensure their children finish their education through the program. The 74 4Ps graduates is a sign of the success of the program),” Mayor Sesaldo added.

To be considered a self-sufficient household, the 4Ps households should have enough income when they graduate and can cope with their daily needs.

Mayor Sesaldo and the Argao Municipal Council pledged to sustain level 3 of the well-being of 4Ps graduates through various livelihood assistance and career opportunities in partnership with other national government agencies like DOLE, DTI, and the private sector.

The DSWD Field Office VII represented by Social Welfare Officer V, Rosemarie Salazar, and Mayor Allan Sesaldo, also gave the “sertipiko ng pagkilala” to the 74 4Ps graduates during the presentation of graduates.

In the same event, 618 newly registered 4Ps beneficiaries took their oath of commitment under the program.

The 618 beneficiaries will be officially part of the program belonging to Set 12, and they will receive cash grants in exchange for compliance with the program’s conditions.

Isip usa ka solo parent, dako akong pasalamat nga naapil ko sa 4Ps kay dako na kini nga tabang nga makahuman sa pageskwela akong mga anak (As a solo parent, I am thankful that I was included in the program because this will greatly help in the education of my children),” said Jenny Mae Lucas.

Some 618 4Ps beneficiaries from Argao take their oath of commitment, agreeing to abide by the conditions of the program.

Jenny also encouraged her fellow 4Ps beneficiaries to use the cash grants properly and be responsible 4Ps grantees.

The DSWD-7 aptly called the activity as “Saulog” Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Ceremonial Graduation and “Pagsugod” Oath of Commitment of new 4Ps beneficiaries to celebrate the program gains and to welcome the new set of beneficiaries in the program.

Other LGUs in Central Visayas will also conduct their own Saulog 4Ps ceremonial graduation “Pagsugod” Oath of Commitment of new 4Ps beneficiaries.

The 4Ps is the government’s major poverty alleviation program that invests in the health, nutrition, and education of poor eligible households. These, with the psychosocial and educational component provided through the Family Development Session (FDS), lead the beneficiaries to have improved and sustained well-being. ###
