The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII continuously provided family food packs to local government units (LGUs) declared under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

DSWD-7 staff and AVRC II active trainees help in the repacking of family food packs in the regional warehouse.

As of July 28, 2021, the DSWD-7 sent a total of 35,000 family food packs worth Php 17 million as augmentation support to Iloilo City and the 24 municipalities in Iloilo Province.

Meanwhile, DSWD-7 also delivered a total of 4,117 family food packs to the town of Samboan, Cebu, which is also under lockdown to slow down the spread of the COVID-19.

The family food pack contains 6 kilos of rice, 4 canned tuna, 4 canned meat, 2 canned fish, 5 sachets of coffee and 5 sachets of cereal drink good for a family of 5 members.

Since the start of the pandemic, the Department already augmented to the 116 LGUs in Central Visayas region for a total of 503,899 family food packs.

Regional Director Rebecca Geamala said that the regional office is ready to provide augmentation support to the local government units. ###
