The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), headed by Secretary Rex Gatchalian, joined First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos for the “Lab for All” caravan on August 29, 2024, held in Adventist Academy Cebu in Talisay City, Cebu.
During the event, 1,500 beneficiaries from Talisay City received Php 3,000 each through the DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program. In addition, the beneficiaries also received one (1) family food pack.
The First Lady and the DSWD chief also witnessed the turnover of checks to the Madasigon Cansojongñanon Association and the Madagayaon Poblacion Association, both of which are Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) from Talisay City.
Also present at the event were DSWD Operations Group Undersecretary Monina Josefina “Pinky” Romualdez, DSWD Field Office 7—Central Visayas Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero, and other officials from the DSWD, partner national government agencies, and local officials from Cebu.
DSWD Field Office 7 also set up an information booth that showcased disaster relief operation items and livelihood products from various Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in the region and distributed brochures of the different DSWD programs and services to the caravan participants.
The LAB for ALL stands for Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat, initiated by the First Lady that provides free healthcare services such as consultations, health screenings, laboratory tests, and medicines, in partnership with national government agencies and the private sector. ###
