The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VII (DSWD-7) has started encoding the entries in Disaster Assistance Family Access Card (DAFAC) of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Naga City, Cebu.

SWD-7 encodes the data gathered from the Disaster Assistance Family Access Card (DAFAC) of the internally displaced persons in Naga City, Cebu.

The DAFAC plays an important role in monitoring the provision of assistance to the IDPs. It contains basic information on each displaced family, including where they are currently staying at; whether in the evacuation center or at their or relatives’ houses. It also helps keep track of the services extended to the families from the start of the disaster to the Early Recovery Phase.

“Effective data management is important in the delivery of services to the IDPs. Hence, we need to fast track the encoding of the information gathered through the DAFAC,” said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre.

Macapobre added that the encoded entries will be reviewed to come up with a clean master list of all IDPs, which will be the basis of providing further interventions to the IDPs.

The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Listahanan staff and some volunteers worked together in encoding the DAFAC entries. They started last Friday and expected to finish first week of October.

As of October 1, 2018, the number of displaced families are 1,714 with 6,913 individuals and are all staying in the 11 established evacuation centers.

The DSWD-7 also provided a total amount of Php 5,237,204.28 for the IDPs. These include Php 1,736,640.00 for the family food packs, Php 3,225,564.28 for the non-food items like hygiene kits and Php 275,000.00 cash assistance to the bereaved families. ###
