Ang maong kalampusan inubanan sa mga nakat-onan sa Family Development Session o FDS ug inubanan sa tabang sa atong mga partners nga naghatag sa ilang resources, time, ug kahibalo (You are our living testimonies, you are the living example, and the evidence that every 4Ps families strive hard and persevere. The successes of the family were coupled with the learnings gained from the Family Development Session and with the help of our partners that provided their resources, time, and knowledge),” said DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero during her opening message.

Director Lucero added that the search has helped inspire 4Ps families to comply with the program conditions and showcase the remarkable stories of model families who, despite the challenges brought about by poverty, can maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values, and create a positive impact in their respective communities.

The Fortuito family will represent the Central Visayas region during the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) National Family Congress in Metro Manila on October 27-31, 2024, with other regional winners from all over the country.

The 4Ps is the government’s major poverty alleviation program, which invests in the health, nutrition, and education of poor households eligible for the program. Together with the psychosocial and educational components provided through the Family Development Session (FDS), the beneficiaries will have improved and sustained well-being. Implemented through DSWD, the program was institutionalized in 2019 by Republic Act 11310, or the 4Ps Act. ###
