About 30,169 beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom Program in the provinces of Cebu and Negros Oriental may redeem new food commodities through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 – Central Visayas accredited retailers in the sixth Food Redemption Month (FRM 6), scheduled from June 23 to July 4, 2025.

Beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom Program use their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards in claiming their food packages in Cebu.

Most of the beneficiaries come from Negros Oriental, with 17,489 households residing in 23 municipalities and cities. An additional 12,680 beneficiaries live in 48 towns and cities within Cebu Province.

They can redeem their pre-ordered food package worth PhP3,000.00 using Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards at the partner retailers in their respective municipalities and cities.

Each EBT card contains PhP 3,000.00 in food credits from DSWD-WGP to redeem food commodities, with 50% (PhP1,500.00) allocated to carbohydrates, 30% (PhP 900.00) for proteins, and 20% (PhP 600.00) for fruits and vegetables.

The following municipalities and cities in the province of Cebu have scheduled food redemption: Alcantara, Alcoy, Alegria, Aloguinsan, Argao, Asturias, Badian, Balamban, Bantayan, Barili, Boljoon, Borbon, Carcar City, Carmen, Catmon, Cebu City, City of Naga, Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Daanbantayan, Dalaguete, Danao City, Dumanjug, Lapu-Lapu City, Liloan, Madridejos, Mandaue City, Malabuyoc, Medellin, Minglanilla, Moalboal, Oslob, Pilar, Pinamungahan, Poro, Ronda, San Fernando, San Francisco, San Remigio, Santa Fe, Sibonga, Sogod, Tabogon, Tabuelan, Talisay City,  and Tuburan.

DSWD 7 also scheduled the following cities and municipalities in the province of Negros Oriental, for food redemption: Amlan, Ayungon, Bais City, Basay, Bayawan City, Bindoy, Canlaon City, Dumaguete City, Guihulngan City, Jimalalud, La Libertad, Mabinay, Manjuyod, Pamplona, San Jose, Santa Catalina, Siaton, Sibulan, Tanjay City, Tayasan, Valencia, Vallehermoso, and Zamboanguita.

The agency also reminded the beneficiaries to carefully inspect both the quantity and quality of the food items provided by DSWD-accredited partner retailers before leaving the redemption site. This proactive measure aims to prevent potential issues and ensure that any concerns are promptly addressed on-site.
