Cebu City — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will hold a country-wide logo-making contest for the National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP).
NCDDP was approved as a national program by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Board early this year and will be launched sometime late this year. DSWD is in the process of branding the program to include this logo contest.
The contest will run from July 12-26 and is open to students of colleges and universities. The design that will win will be used as the official logo of a national program of the DSWD and the winning designer will also receive Php10,000.00 as cash prize and a trophy.
The logo should reflect the essence of NCDDP and should have the name in the design. It should also be designed to match the image of DSWD. It can be initially designed in the medium of choice of the contestant such as digital, acrylic paint, watercolor, among others, but the final copy has to be submitted in digital format. Each participant can submit a maximum of three designs.
Interested students can attend an orientation of the NCDDP on July 12, 2013 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Conference Room of DSWD Field Office VII located at corner MJ Cuenco Avenue and Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
The orientation will not only provide more details about the contest, it will also provide information on the program to give participants the opportunity to find out more about the NCDDP.
NCDDP is the scale-up of the operations of the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach used and proven effective by Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).
CDD empowers ordinary citizens to actively and directly participate in local governance by identifying their own community needs, planning, implementing, and monitoring projects to address local poverty issues collectively.
From the current Kalahi-CIDSS coverage in the Central Visayas, NCDDP will cover 104 additional municipalities with poverty incidence rates greater than 26.5% located in the Cebu, Bohol and Negros Oriental and Siquijor. The national program will be officially launched in late 2013 and will run up to 2019.
