The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 – Central Visayas regular radio program Ikaw ug ang DSWD Kauban sa Kabag-ohan goes back on air for 2025. The radio program aired over DYHP RMN Cebu 612 KHz continues to provide correct information to the public.

Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero and Regional Information Officer Leah Quintana discuss the innovation programs and DSWD online portals with DYHP anchor Benjie Tanghiyan.
This flagship radio program of DSWD-7 has been over DYHP RMN Cebu at 612 KHz for six (6) years now, which tackles the updates from different DSWD programs and services, shares testimonials from program beneficiaries, and responds to queries from listeners.
In the first episode for 2025, on May 25, 2025, DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero joined the live broadcast of the radio program. She encouraged listeners and viewers to tune in to DYHP every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The radio program received the first-ever Best Educational Program under the radio category at the first Cebu Metropolitan Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMCMMA) in September 2024.
“This radio program serves as one of the platforms of DSWD in its efforts to bring its programs and services closer to poor Filipinos and provide clarifications if there are issues that will emerge,” said Director Lucero.
She added that media partners like DYHP RMN Cebu provided DSWD a platform to educate the public about social welfare and development programs and services, like how they can avail of a particular program or service, clarify if there are emerging issues, and also present the success stories of beneficiaries who benefited from a DSWD initiated program.
During the first episode, Director Lucero highlighted innovative DSWD programs like the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program and the Walang Gutom Program, online portals like the Harmonized Electronic Licensing Permit System (HELPS), the Minors Traveling Abroad (MTA) portal, and the Kaagapay Donations portal, which was pioneered by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
The succeeding episodes will feature other programs and services like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), the Project LAWA at BINHI, the KALAHI-CIDSS, the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizen, the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), the Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs), the campaign against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), among others. ###
