The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VII (DSWD) seeks new children ambassadors for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The search aims to recognize exemplary 4Ps children who serve as excellent examples in their households, schools, and communities. It also encourages children to be active citizens, performing beyond complying with the program conditions.
Specifically, the search encourages children to be compliant with the conditions set by the program and to develop exemplary children beneficiaries as advocates of the program and its thrusts in health and education.
The search is open to all 4Ps children beneficiaries aged 10 to 14 by October 31, 2024.
The nominee must be a program beneficiary for at least one (1) year, compliant with the required school attendance, in good academic standing, and fully immunized.
The child must also possess the following characteristics: excellent in different learning areas in the curriculum; active in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; talented and recipient of awards in singing, dancing, acting, essay writing, spoken poetry, poster making, or participating in various talent competitions; and most especially, has good moral character.
Community leaders, teachers, parent groups, or church groups can recommend a child. Interested nominators may approach the 4Ps city and municipal links (C/MLs) for the complete details of the search.
The simultaneous provincial judging for Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor will be on October 4, 2024.
The provincial first placers will compete at the regional level. Another set of judges will determine the regional winner. All provincial and regional winners will get cash prizes and certificates of recognition.
The four (4) provincial winners will attend the National Children’s Congress (NCC) and the Araw ng Kabataan in Metro Cebu in celebration of National Children’s Month in November. Other provincial winners from all over the country will also join them.
The 4Ps is the major poverty alleviation program of the government, which invests in the health, nutrition, and education of poor households, primarily ages 0–18 children.
Together with the psychosocial and educational components provided through the Family Development Session (FDS), the beneficiaries will have improved and sustained well-being. Implemented through DSWD, the program was institutionalized in 2019 by Republic Act 11310, or the 4Ps Act. ###
