Some 1,709 employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII are already inoculated of COVID-19 vaccine.

As part of the government’s frontline workers, 635 DSWD-7 workers in the different provinces of the Central Visayas region received the vaccine with the following breakdown: 18 in Bohol, 553 in Cebu, 47 in Negros Oriental,17 in Siquijor and 1,074 DSWD Field Office-based staff.

Social Welfare Office V Rosemarie Salazar believed that the opportunity to get the jab was important not only for herself but also for the people she encounters in her daily work as a social worker and to her family.

“Do you want to be protected? Ayaw na pagduha duha, Huwag kang matakot, Tara na. Your Yes to bakuna means a lot for everybody’s welfare,” she said.

DSWD-7 employees were accommodated in their respective Local Government Units (LGUs) and underwent vital signs monitoring. They were assessed by the attending physician before the conduct of the vaccination. Likewise, the vaccinated employees had to stay at least 15 to 30 minutes at the vaccination area, depending on the physician’s assessment, for observation.

The DSWD-7 also coordinated with the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas for the COVID-19 vaccination for the DSWD Field Office VII-based staff.

DSWD will continue to prioritize the welfare and safety of its clients and employees by ensuring that they are properly provided with the right information on the government’s vaccination program. ###
