While the streets of Cebu usually claim the spotlight, the true soul of the festival found a home at the AVRC on January 29, 2026. This year’s Sinulog sa CRCF brought the vibrant tradition, faith, and color of the Sinulog Festival directly to the centers, proving that resilience and traditional dance go together.

By bringing the heart of the celebration directly to the centers, the department ensures that those in its care are fully integrated into the region’s most significant spiritual and cultural milestone. Sinulog sa CRCF 2026 is a colorful and spirited showcase of talent that highlights the resilience and artistry of residents and trainees.
The Home for Girls received the Best in Costume and Best in Ritual Dance awards, while the Regional Haven for Women won Best in Street Dance. Meanwhile, the Best Festival Queen title was awarded to the Regional Haven for Women.
RD Shalaine Marie Lucero said that “Sinulog sa CRCF is a vital component of the healing process, as it allows residents to rediscover their strengths and connect with their cultural roots. The passion the clients displayed is a clear indicator of their progress and the positive impact of the department’s interventions on their well-being. And this is one step forward to our goal of rehabilitating the clients and giving them a path to normalcy.”
This event further exhibits DSWD’s commitment to rehabilitation and social healing by providing a platform that centers on the dignity and inclusion of every client. By facilitating such an extensive celebration, the department demonstrates that its care goes beyond basic needs, focusing instead on nurturing the spirit and ensuring that every individual feels valued and supported on their journey toward recovery. ###
