The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 (DSWD 7)—Central Visayas receives the “Community Impact Partner” Award from Lapu-Lapu City College (LLCC) on March 31, 2026.

The award recognizes the partnership of DSWD 7 and LLCC in implementing Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP). This collaboration resulted in a significant, sustainable, and positive impact on education, employability, and community development, while also furthering shared goals and transforming lives.
The award was presented during LLC’s foundation day, entitled “Foundation Season 2026,” with the theme “16 ka Tuig alang sa Edukasyon, Kaangayan ug Maluntarong Pag-uswag.”
The celebration highlighted the collective efforts of the institution, its partners, and the community in shaping empowered and future-ready learners.
Present to receive the award are representatives of the regional director, Innovations Division Chief Margie D. Pinton, and TBTP Regional Program Coordinator Ma. Jessa B. Cereño.
LLCC has been TBTP’s partner in nation-building for the second year.
For 2026, LLCC will be deploying a total of 380 college students as tutors and youth development workers (YDWs). They will be handling tutoring sessions for 1,100 learners and facilitating the Nanay-Tatay Teacher sessions for 1,100 parents or guardians.
In the 2025 implementation, LLCC has deployed 200 tutors and 100 YDWs who accommodate 967 learners and 967 parents and guardians, including those in the island barangays of Olango, Caohagan, Caubian, and Pangan-an. ###
