Following the completion of the ‘first wave’ of Family Food Pack (FFP) distribution, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has commenced the delivery of additional food packs to families affected by the recent earthquake in Cebu Province.

Acting on Secretary Gatchalian’s directive and following his meeting with Cebu Province and affected LGUs on October 7, 2025, in Bogo City, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 promptly initiated the dispatch of additional Family Food Packs from its warehouses.
The Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Mandaue City, which serves as DSWD’s main repacking hub in the Visayas, continues its round-the-clock operations—repacking, loading, and dispatching FFPs for delivery to affected localities in northern Cebu.
After the first wave of food assistance, the DSWD commenced the dispatch of 35,550 FFPs on October 8, 2025, for the second wave.
On October 7, 7,300 FFPs were dispatched and delivered to the municipalities of Sogod (3,300), Borbon (2,000), and Catmon (2,000).
On October 8, 28,250 FFPs were sent out for delivery to Bantayan (2,000), Daanbantayan (4,000), Bogo City, Tabuelan (3,000), Sogod (4,000), Tabogon (2,000), Borbon (2,000), San Remigio (2,000), Medellin (5,250), and Catmon (4,000).
Meanwhile, DSWD’s food packs have arrived in Medellin, where the distribution has commenced in Barangay Caputatan Norte, with 989 FFPs distributed to residents.
To support the target of delivering 225,000 FFPs within the week, DSWD Field Office 7 has opened a call for volunteers to assist in the repacking of Family Food Packs at the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Tingub, Mandaue City.
The DSWD 7 calls on individuals to volunteer and encourages them to visit its official Facebook page, “DSWD Field Office 7–Central Visayas,” for more details on how to participate as volunteers. ###
