The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7—Central Visayas resumed issuing Guarantee Letters under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

The continued issuance of guarantee letters assists individuals facing crises who need immediate support.
DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero said the resumption of issuance ensures that vulnerable individuals can access essential medical and funeral assistance.
“We are resuming the issuance of Guarantee Letters on January 7 to ensure that our most vulnerable clients can immediately access the essential medical and funeral assistance they need. Our commitment is to stand with those in crisis and help ease their burden as soon as possible,” Lucero said.
A guarantee letter covers medical bills and burial services issued to a service provider to guarantee payment for the services or products a qualified client needs under crisis assistance.
On November 30, 2025, the DSWD temporarily suspended the issuance of Guarantee Letters to allow for year-end account settlements and compliance with financial management guidelines. ###
