The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 brought the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3Ti) Information Caravan to the Hoops Dome Auditorium in Lapu-Lapu City as part of its continuing efforts to combat misinformation and promote accurate information on the department’s programs and services.

DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero delivers the inspirational message during the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3Ti) Information Caravan in Lapu-Lapu City.

The 3Ti campaign is a nationwide initiative of the DSWD aimed at combating the spread of fake news and misinformation regarding its programs and services, which often mislead and further marginalize beneficiaries from vulnerable sectors.

In her welcome remarks, Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero emphasized the importance of truth and transparency in public service. “By bringing the right information closer to the people, we protect our beneficiaries from misinformation and strengthen their trust in the government, and we empower them with accurate, timely, and reliable information,” said Director Lucero.

During the sessions, resource speakers presented DSWD’s flagship programs and services. SWO III Marhadzda B. Tudtud presented the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps); PDO III Julius Villanueva discussed the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP); SWO IV Clavel Saycon tackled the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), and PDO III Emely S. Tibong shared insights on the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

An open forum followed the discussions, where participants were given the opportunity to raise queries and concerns directly to the panel of speakers, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information. Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero also encapsulated all the answers, reinforcing the department’s unified and transparent messaging to the participants.

To complement the information drive, government booths were also set up to provide on-the-ground services.

Among those present were the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and various offices of the Lapu-Lapu City Government, including the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

DSWD Field Office 7 likewise established a Public Assistance and Complaints Desk (PACD) to address participant inquiries and highlight its wide range of social protection programs.

The event was attended by DSWD Central Office officials under the Strategic Communications (StratComm) group, including OIC-Director Monica Shayne Anne Purugganan of the Public Relations Service (PRS) and Director Clarissa Lara Duran of the Traditional Media Service (TMS), who expressed their support for the region’s continuing 3Ti rollout.

Oponganons also had the chance to ask directly to the DSWD-7 through the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk (PACD).

Also present were Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Cindi King-Chan and Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Junard “Ahong” Chan, who both lauded the 3Ti Caravan for bringing government services and accurate information closer to Oponganons, especially those from vulnerable sectors.

The 3Ti Caravan has already been launched in Bohol and Cebu and will continue to be rolled out across Central Visayas to combat misinformation and ensure that beneficiaries—especially those from vulnerable sectors—are empowered through accessible and accurate information. ###
