The Mangubat Family used the Php 50,000 cash from the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) through the BP2P of Kalahi-CIDSS to purchase goods for her sari-sari store in her hometown in Barili, Cebu.

Mangubat used to live in Las Piñas, Manila for 25 years and worked as a researcher at the Philippine Statistics Agency (PSA) for 3 years. She decided to return home in Barili after her contract ended.

The Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag-asa (BP2P) program helps people return to rural areas from the urban areas. Low-income families who were affected by the pandemic and those who lost their jobs are considered recipients of the BP2P program. The Sustainable Livelihood Program provides Livelihood Settlement Grants to BP2P recipients who qualified during the assessment, especially those who lost their livelihood or income.

To date, there are 292 recipients who have ongoing assessment and validation. ###
